About TetriNETTetris, is probably one of the most played games on earth. So what makes this game different from the others? Well you can now play with up to five other people on the internet. It is designed for Windows 9x, Windows NT and Unix operating systems (a 486 computer with 256 colors and internet access would do just fine). Other features include power-ups and amazing flexibility in customizing game settings. You can also change the appearance of the playing field and sound effects by downloading one of the themes available here. You can email St0rmCat here, who is the developer of TetriNET.Take a look at the TetriNET readme file. How to start playing? First, unzip the TetriNET file using a file extraction program like WinZip or WinRAR. In the game you will notice some tabs at the bottom of the screen. Press 'Misc Settings' to set your keyboard controls, or just leave it at default. The 'Client Settings' tab will let you connect to a server where you can play games against other players, enter your name then type in the server you would like to join (eg: tetrinet.org). If you would like to start your own server press the 'Server Settings' tab, here you can configure the game and enable (or disable) other features (make sure that other players know what your IP number or server address is, otherwise they cannot join). The 'Partyline' tab is where you can chat to other players connected, set teams, and start the game. Clicking on the 'Show Fields' tab will open up another window, this is where you play the actual game. Finally, the 'Win List' tab displays the points accumulated from winning. |
